Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Almost Birthday me.

We leave for Portland Wednesday for New Years Eve with the Turner family.

Gus is a successful traveler.

I love my husband more and more everyday.

2009 has been my greatest year.

(More on that later)

catnip wednesday

a few photos of augustus. he’s getting so big. kitten come back!

his favorite catnip squirrel

see?

he’s crazy.

a girl can dream

with christmas coming and my birthday eleven days after, find myself dreaming of some fun things to ask for. for example…

[macbook pro] – this is almost a necessity. my old powerbook g4 works well, but i’m so outdated with all the newness from apple. i have a feeling it will poop out soon! hello educational discount and monthly payments! hint.

[canon eos 50d] – this is a sure stretch, but i always have loved photography and haven’t had the luxury to have a real slr camera. i need to save for one, for sure.

[vintage mirror] – i’ve been looking for one for ages and haven’t found one like this anywhere in a reasonable price! come on thrift stores! of course this one’s sold out ha. [highstreetmarket]

just love this ring. [sparklethots]

i’m sure scott will make fun of me if i wear these awesome heels. that’s what he gets for wearing that awful $3 green shirt of his. [f21]

why not? [f21]

i have been eying this sham (i think its a sham… or decorative pillow?) everytime i go into target. i want 2 to complete my bedroom!! [target]

if i had to pick a candle to have around for the rest of my life, this would be it. mom, can you hear me? [anthropologie]

just so pretty. the color is perfect. [anthropologie]

so fun. a girl can dream.

welcome little augustus!

Welcome little Augustus to the family!!

Finally! We picked up little Gus at an animal shelter yesterday. I told myself that once I finished my 25 unit load at school I’d have time to care for and play with a little kitten baby, and that’s just what I did. He’s SO tiny, loves to drink his water, find crevices to get stuck in, and sleep on my shoulder. LOVE.

Now, Scott’s never had a cat before. Convincing him was quite difficult. But they are bonding and getting along quite nicely! My husband is just the best.

His name comes from a golf course called “Augusta.”  Sounded a little girly, so Augustus it became. Funny because I suggested “Gus Gus” a few days ago because of the little mice in Cinderella… Scott said nayy.

So excited to have time to myself without projects looming in the distance. So thankful its over. So thankful for love. So thankful for Scott. AND so thankful for Gus.

and a dog named spot

this old song reminds me of my mother.

she would always sing along and say, “this song was written about me and your father!”

crayons

‘true color series girl 1’ by christian faur, 2008

american artist christian faur uses hand-cast wax crayons as pixels to create vivid images. faur arrived at
the series through pushing the boundries of material limitations. rather than using the crayons to draw with,
he uses the object itself as small points of colour like a pointillist painting. each work is composed of
a small box filled with rows and rows of crayons. when viewed from up close the works appear to be a
random collection of colours, but as the viewer distances themselves form the piece, the image depicted
reveals itself more clearly. faur has also developed a method of representing the english alphabet through
colours, which can be seen intermittently on some of the works.
