Every thought a thought of You
No more thought I ought to do
When there ain’t a thing we see
Or touch we trust is true
Every thought a thought of You

Every look in search of You
No need for books when we’re with You
You wear a thin disguise,
O Light within my brother’s eyes
Every look in search of You

Every song in praise of You
Our darkest nights are days to You
The trees raise branches high
Like arms in church to grateful sky
Every song in praise of You

No one here to believe but You
Everyone else is bound to leave but You
When they swear their love is real
They mean “I like the way you make me feel”
No one here to believe but You
There’s no one here to believe but You

betrayal

ever since i was around age 10, i have loved the newsboys. sure, i know they’ve turned cheesy in the most recent years, but they will always have a place in my heart.

i honestly don’t think i’d be the same person i am today with out their music and the passion they gave me for music and all that stuff.

so in saying that, i think i am the only one who is utterly upset, betrayed, and grossed out by their new decision to have michael tait from dc talk replace peter furler as lead singer. “infusing two of the greatest bands in christian music.” NO NO NO.

Picture 10

first off, newsboys are a band. dc talk is a GROUP. no instruments, just 3 guys singing. sure they were good back in the day, but to put them on the same front as the newsboys is just WRONG. get the facts straight. newsboys write and play their own music.

secondly, if peter wanted to keep writing music but not be on tour, STOP THE WHOLE BAND. its  never going to be the same.

thirdly, i will never go to a newsboys show again if michael tait is there. [this has nothing to do with his race, i know that if someone reading this they’re going to think i’m racist. no not at all. i’m mad at the decision – not michael tait personally, racially, or asthetically. maybe i’m a band-ist?]

fourthly, along with quitting the band all together, the newsboys need to do one final show where they play the song-list of Step Up To The Microphone, LLD, and everything BEFORE Thrive.  that’s when they were epic. that’s what the old fans [ME and everyone i remember from the old message boards. yeah i was into those, so i know what i’m talking about.] want to see. then quit. i will drop everything and travel anywhere for that show. i promise. just as long as michael tait isn’t there.

fifthly, DO NOT PLAY DC TALK SONGS AT NEWSBOYS SHOWS. its wrong wrong wrong. people who like this are stupid.

ok enough. i’m sorry if you like this decision. i really am upset. i have been for a few months. the newsboys need to stay loyal to their true fans. loosing phil was hard enough. just quit and say it has been a good run.

view them at their prime.

i still get chills watching/listening to this.

Two little mice fell in a bucket of cream. The first mouse quickly gave up and drowned. The second mouse, wouldn’t quit. He struggled so hard that eventually he churned that cream into butter and crawled out. Gentlemen, as of this moment, I am that second mouse.

a weekend off

a weekend, off of school, off of bakersfield, off of … well i think that’s about it.

spending a weekend at home, with the family. whenever i come home, rarely spend the bulk of my time with my family at home. quite sad, but i pack so much in that i barely get time to sleep.

even though i’m trying to keep it simple, i still have a list of to-do’s. oh such is life. what am i saying, i like being busy.

– alteration for dress – bustle…. that’s it for alterations! so happy!

– meeting with amanda to talk my wedding, then with the team to talk life, love, weddings, over dinner. i love knowing creative people.

– drive up with the family to attend our old pastor’s church for mother’s day up in santa clarita. pastor hegg is incredible, so smart, so loving, and so funny. his son actually introduced scott + i and is completely responsible for “us.” [well, andy and the lord, obvi.] its mother’s day, i planned on giving my mom something that is special, something she can use all the time, and actually mean something [usual gift from me are candles or whatnot]. i know she doesn’t know how to even navigate the internet, let alone find my blog, so here’s here’s what i’m getting her :

yet instead of that writing, i got all us kids (plus scott – sure to be a tear jurker!) on the front and then “happy mother’s day 2009” on the back. its been a while since i’ve really done something like this for her, so i’m so excited to give it to her. she’s been so amazing and such a support for me. her love and selfless ways are so incredible, ah i just love her. but – i ordered it a bit too late, so its in the mail. soooo nevermind on the reaction part just yet. PAUSE…
